Well, there are two sides to this story. On one hand, there are those women who feign for attention from men. They smile and giggle, flip their hair, and bat their eyelashes. And then there are those of us who refuse to play that game; who want to be respected for what we know and not how we look. And I have noticed that some women seem unaware of their own behavior in the presence of men. I have seen them make a visible shift in their body language when men enter the room. It is systemic socialization that runs deep and unfortunately, "pick me girl" is just a way to point it out. I dream of a day when women will see their value apart from how it is defined in relation to men. One day...
