Say This To End a Disagreement

My favorite “cut” when I am disagreeing with someone is this:

“I am going to say this and then I am done…”

And know matter what happens next, I have no further comment on the subject. As strange as it sounds, my statement of ending is usually followed by silence. I believe it is because people want to continue the back and forth. And when you let them know you will no longer participate, they move on.

“And that’s all I have to say about that.”
