Me Alone

Press enter or click to view image in full size

I enter the room

Only one of me

I take a seat

No one sits next to me

“How are you?”

Not talking to me

I sit there

Me alone

Jokes and laughs

Conversation ensues

I share some words

No one moves

They look away

I sit there

Me alone

The rhythm and flow

Swirling around the room

Ideas floating around

Like invisible balloons

I am not included

So, I sit there

Me alone

And then it ends

Nobody looks my way

No smiles for me

They leave abruptly

And I sit there

Me alone

What about you? Have you ever felt excluded in a room full of people?
