A scrum master would have ensured that you, the product owner, was kept up to date on a weekly basis. They would have also ensured that your requirements were properly translated to the team and that the team worked in an agile way to deliver the product in increments. Hiring a devops team without a scrum master is a disaster waiting to happen.
